The New Orleans Young Urban Rebuilding Professionals was launched in the summer of 2007 to build a support and resource network to connect, retain and attract young professionals from diverse backgrounds for a sustainable New Orleans.

Over the past couple of years, NOLA YURP has hosted numerous networking events, educational workshops, and roundtable discussions. We traveled around the country encouraging groups to get involved in the recovery of New Orleans, created an online social networking site, and helped launch WorkNOLA.com, a job board for New Orleans Professionals.

We are very proud of these accomplishments, but we recognize that we can do more to welcome NOLA Newcomers as a part of MakeNewOrleansHome.com, so we are refocusing our energy and enthusiasm.

As a part of MakeNewOrleansHome.com, we will focus on promoting the New Orleans area as "the place to live life", by providing the best information about the unique livability of one of America's greatest cities, and we hope that you join us in these new adventures.

We hope that the New Orleans young professional community continues to grow and we encourage you to join and get involved in our partner groups The Young Leadership Council (YLC), a civic organization created to develop leadership through community projects, and 504ward, the home-base for the young talent in New Orleans to meet, learn, explore connect and grow.
