The Beta Community Project: Destination Broadmoor
Developing a crowdsourced, community driven third place in Broadmoor, New Orleans. Collaborative effort of NOLA YURP, NOLA Community Development, and the Broadmoor Improvement Association. In 2008, we travelled around the country facilitating workshops with student groups about how they could get involved in the recovery effort in New Orleans. We have held workshops at Yale University, Loyola New Orleans, Spring Hill College, and University of Michigan. We have also held several activities for the hundreds of volunteers that were participating in Alternative Spring Break Programs in New Orleans. Read about one here
